Traffic Stop Procedure

Describe, step by step, how you would conduct a routine traffic stop — from initiating the stop to releasing or detaining the driver.

Use of Force and Escalation

While responding to a disturbance call, a subject becomes verbally aggressive, refuses lawful commands and reaches toward his waistband. Explain how you would attempt to de-escalate and what level of force, if any, would be appropriate at each stage.

Vehicle Pursuit Policy

A vehicle flees a traffic stop at high speed into a residential area. Explain when you would continue or terminate the pursuit and how you would coordinate with dispatch and other units.

Radio Communication

Explain the purpose of standardized radio codes and give three examples you are familiar with, including their meaning.
